Divide County Ambulance Services is looking for knowledgeable, professional EMT’s who are self-motivated, team players, and are able to provide emergency care for patient in a medical, trauma or environmental emergency.  The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent patient service skills, able to work well under pressure, and make quick decisions about patient health.  The successful applicant must be familiar with all onboard equipment and ready to jump into their new role from day one. This position operates on a 24 hour call schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, dispatcher and St. Luke’s Medical Center’s staff.

  • Respond to emergency calls, assess patient condition and make critical care decisions quickly.

  • Collect pertinent patient care data and transfer that data to the receiving facility.

  • Maintain a running inventory of medical supplies on the ambulance

  • In the field, the EMT responsibilities include: triage, CPR, oxygen therapy, shock prevention, splinting, spinal immobilization and vehicular extrication.

  • Ability to establish patient airway with oral or naso-pharyngeal airway.

  • Immobilizes extremities on trauma patients; applies direct pressure to control hemorrhaging.

Qualifications and Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Current EMT - Basic certification.

  • Current BLS certifications.

  • Valid State of North Dakota Driver's License and excellent driving record.

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Basic computer and radio use knowledge.
