Divide County Ambulance Services is looking for knowledgeable, professional Paramedics who are self-motivated, team players, and is able to provide emergency care for patient in a medical, trauma or environmental emergency.  The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent patient service skills, able to work well under pressure, and make quick decisions about patient health.  The successful applicant must be familiar with all onboard equipment and ready to jump into their new role from day one. This position operates on a 24 hour call schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, dispatcher and St. Luke’s Medical Center’s staff.

  • Respond to emergency calls, assess patient condition and make critical care decisions quickly.

  • Collect pertinent patient care data and transfer that data to the receiving facility.

  • Maintain a running inventory of medical supplies on the ambulance

  • Life support, airway management, oxygen therapy, venous access, shock prevention, splinting, spinal immobilization, vehicular extrication.

  • Ability to establish patient airway with oral and naso-pharyngeal airways, endotracheal intubation.

  • Able to ventilate a patient with mask/ambu bag when necessary

  • Immobilizes extremities on trauma patients; applies direct pressure to control hemorrhaging.

  • Able to administer fluids and medications in the field.

  • Able to assess pain and provide pain management.

Qualifications and Education

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Current EMT - Paramedic certification.

  • Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.

  • Valid State of North Dakota Driver's License.

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Basic computer and radio use knowledge.
