Divide County Ambulance Services is looking for ambulance drivers who are self-motivated, team players, and are able to provide emergency care support for patients in a medical, trauma or environmental emergency.  The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent driving skills, able to work well under pressure, and willing to be on call two 24 hour shifts weekly.  This is not a volunteer position. Selected candidates will be compensated $10 per hour during each 24 hour shift, regardless if called out to drive, cleaning and stocking supplies in the ambulance bay preparing for the next call, or simply being available for an ambulance run. 100% employer paid BCBSND monthly premium for medical and dental coverage. While on call, you may do as you see fit, including work at another job, as long as you are able to respond to calls for service within 10 minutes. All uniforms and training are provided.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, dispatcher, EMT, Paramedic, and St. Luke’s Hospital’s staff.

  • Respond within 10 minutes to emergency calls.

  • Assist in keeping supplies in inventory, restocking supplies in order to be ready for the next call and keeping the ambulance bay neat, clean and orderly.

  • Keep employer provided apartment clean and orderly, if staying in it during your scheduled shifts.

  • Operates ambulance safely and keeps them maintained.

Qualifications and Education

  • Must be over 18 years of age.

  • Current BLS and first aid certification or will certify once hired with employer provided certification training.

  • Valid State of North Dakota Driver's License.

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Basic radio use knowledge or willingness to learn.

  • Must live within 10 minutes of St. Luke’s hospital in Crosby, ND or able to stay in employer provided apartment during scheduled shifts.

Phsyical Demands

  • Lift up to 75 pounds, climb over obstacles, push and pull 50 pounds, maintain general wellbeing and bodily fitness.

  • Required to stand, walk, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and smell.

  • Possess gross and fine motor skills.
