Board of Directors

Art Schilke, President

“Having quality care services available in a rural area is a significant benefit for the residents of Divide County and the surrounding area.  One goal I have as a member of the St. Luke’s Medical Center Board of Directors is to provide any input I can to help insure the tradition of quality care offerings in our community continue in the future. The staff and leadership of St. Luke’s Medical Center, Care Center, and Crosby Clinic work hard to provide the health care services needed to meet the needs of our community and surrounding area.  I appreciate the opportunity to be part of that effort!”

Art is honored to be married to his wife of 40 years, Doreen and to be the father of their two grown sons who have blessed them with 3 granddaughters. He is a retired school administrator of 35 years, as well as a farmer in Divide/Williams County. Art also serves as President of the Upper Missouri District Health Unit (4 county area) and is a member of the US Durum Growers Association Board of Directors.

Sandra Simonson, Director

“Most small town hospitals, clinics and nursing homes over the past 10 to 15 years have struggled to keep their doors open.   It has been my good fortune to serve on The St. Luke’s Medical Center Board. It gives me the opportunity to help our hospital, clinic, assisted living and nursing home move forward into the future with technological ingenuity.   It is not only a privilege to work with the administration of the hospital, but the doctors, nurses and support staff as well.  I feel like we are all part of a family that works together to make “Our Community Hospital” stand out and excel.”

Sandra is the owner and operator of Divide-Burke Abstract Co., Inc.  She is a member of the North Dakota Land and Title Association where she serves as a representative of the By-Laws Committee.

Sandra is active with the Divide County Economic Development Council, Grow Crosby, LLC and The Bypass Restaurant and Lounge. Sandra, and her husband Jim live west of Crosby on their family farm, they have five children.

Wanda Ely, Director

“If you aren’t moving forward—you are going backwards!!! Growth is a must in any business and that is our goal at St. Luke’s Medical Center and Care Center. It has been very rewarding to see our plans for expansion and improvements come to being with the hospital addition and renovation, bringing the clinic under the same roof and the addition of the nursing home. The medical center and nursing home is such an important part of Crosby and the surrounding area and we want it to be the best it can be. We are always striving to bring in the best medical providers and employees in all areas to make our facility run smooth and give you the people and the services you need, when you need them.

Wanda and her husband, Mike, own and operate a grain farm west of Columbus and have two grown children and a grandson. Wanda is also the child care provider for her grandson. Wanda has been on the hospital board since 2002, making her the longest serving member of the current board.”
